"The Office" is on Track

Thanks for the post from Wilbert Aguilar

Season six of "The Office" was painful to sit through as I watched Jim and Pam get married and give birth. The season lacked comedy on most episodes to the point I even missed episodes here and there. However, with song, dance and ignorant Michael Scott, season seven of "The Office" started off with a band as my favorite fall TV premiere on satellite TV fromwww.directstartv.com/localchannels/Texas/.
Michael Scott hires his nephew over the summer as an assistant to grow close to his family. The only problem with this is Luke sucks at his job and the crew in the office isn't afraid to say so. Michael won't hear of this and demands kindness towards his nephew. After Luke fails to send off important documents Gabe squeals to the owner that Michael is treating his nephew with extra care and it is decided Michael is then responsible for all of his nephew's actions if he stays employed. The entire episode is full of slapstick and ignorant comedy as Michael Scott shines at his best.
If this episode is anything of what the future season holds there may be light at the end of the tunnel for "The Office."

Cooling history

Guest post written by Pete Stump

Living in a nationally certified historic home is a blessing and a burden. Our home’s value only increases over time as long as we keep it up, which means that maintaining its exterior doesn’t require a lot of imagination because it has to remain the same.
But there are also a lot of problems with it. We’re stuck with the look of the exterior and are held to a higher regard by our neighbors than someone not in a historic home. The home also isn’t well insulated, which means that heating and air conditioning can be a problem. When the one we had broke down, we decided to go with a new model and settled on anew hvac that wouldn’t compromise the integrity of the historic structure. We didn’t have to put a noisy unit outside that’s an eyesore – at least when it comes to historic homes.
I was so grateful for the house to be cool again because we also have some antique furniture in here that doesn’t do well in damp and warm conditions that often happen in homes without good cooling systems.

Chinchilla and college

Guest post written by Kathryn Liner
I’m a college student and live in a rental property that I wouldn’t exactly call “nice.” But it’s close to campus, big enough for my stuff and I can park in my own driveway for free, which is kind of rare for around here. Luckily, my landlord also allows pets so I keep my chinchilla Foxy here with me at school.
My landlord owns a lot of property around here so I know that he can’t and won’t come make a repair as soon as I call him. But when it comes to certain broken things, like air conditioning, they need to become a priority.
Chinchillas don’t really sweat so when they’re hot they don’t have a way to release the heat. Maybe I was freaking out even more because of Foxy, but I called up my landlord after researching some SEARS HVAC and told him that was the best quote I found, even though doing that was really his job, not mine.
Thankfully, he called them immediately and they replaced the broken system really soon and I could rest easy that Foxy was cool and not in any danger.

We Love Sesame Street

This guest post was written by Kyle Betson
Sesame Street is a show that has been around since I was a child. I love that we can still watch it on our cable tv. This show just gets better with time. Our children really enjoy watching it everyday when it is on the television.
Elmo is my daughters favorite character on this show. He is just an adorable little red puppet. You can't help but love him. He is really nice to all of his friends. This show is always teaching the kids new things. They focus on a different theme for every show. They help the kids to learn their numbers and alphabet. It is great that they can learn so much on one show. Bert and Ernieshow them what a special friendship really is in this world. They have their moments you see that they disagree, but it always shows them working it out for the best. This is one show that I never tell the kids they can't watch. I know if they watch it nothing bad will be on it and they will be learning new things. As a parent, I can't ask for more than that from a television show.

My DVR

Thanks to Taylor Regin for the guest post.
Nearly every show I watch on DVR that I got throughcannonSatellite.com. The DVR allows me to watch my favorite show's like The Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement  andHell's Kitchen when ever I want and with out commercial interruption. Because the show is recorded I simply fast forward through the commercials. The other benefit of fast forwarding through the commercials is it cuts out nearly ten minutes of each half hour show. Some times I don't get around to watching a particular program for a few weeks but that is okay because I set my DVR to record the every episode of a show. The DVR also helps me remember shows that I may have other wise have forgotten to watch. When I come across something I want to watch in the future I set the DVR to record it. This allows me to not worry about what day or time it will be aired. When I am ready to sit back and enjoy a good program, I open my list of recorded shows and choose what I am in the mood for.
